Data Deletion Guide
Effective: 30 August 2026Version: 1.0
On this page
This page shows in one place how to request a copy of your data and how to delete your account and the data attached to it. The full legal background is in the Privacy Policy - this guide covers the practical steps.
The In short summaries are informational and are there to help you follow the section. The full text always prevails legally.
This document is available in Hungarian and English. In case of any discrepancy, the Hungarian version prevails.
1. Exporting your data
After signing in, the Settings page lets you request a full export in JSON (the machine-readable copy under Article 20 GDPR) and a separate CSV export of your guest list. The export starts immediately and does not depend on your plan.
Export before you delete: once deletion has run, we cannot restore the data.
2. Deleting your account in the app
After signing in, account deletion is at the bottom of the Settings page. Deletion covers your account and your wedding data (guest list, seating, budget, timeline, uploaded files).
After deletion we erase your data without delay, except where a statutory retention obligation applies (for example accounting records for 8 years). Copies temporarily present in backups are removed at the end of the backup cycle. The detailed retention table is in the Privacy Policy.
3. Deletion request by email
If you cannot access your account, write to weddingcopilot@outlook.com with the subject "Data deletion", from the email address the account was created with. After identity verification we fulfil the request within 30 days as required by the GDPR; in complex cases this can be extended by up to two months, of which we will inform you separately.
4. If you appear as a guest on someone's list
If you are not a user but appear on someone's guest list, the controller of that data under the Article 28 GDPR arrangement is the couple planning the wedding - ask them first, as they can delete you in one click. If that is not practical, write to us at the address above and we will assist and, within the legal framework, act ourselves.
